Smart Charging makes the smart charging of electric cars accessible to all. The concept of ‘smart’ here is a wide notion. It can mean that the grid capacity is used in such a manner that consumers are able to charge their batteries fully at any time; even if large groups of consumers wish to ‘fill up’ simultaneously. Smart can also mean that the dynamic and fluctuating energy prices can be taken into consideration when charging. Or again smart can be taken as using a local supply of sustainable energy from solar panels. And it is very smart indeed when the EV driver’s wishes form part of the solution. Really smart would of course mean that all these vying facets are taken into consideration at the same time.
